The Browns put up a fight, but ultimately lost to the Steelers, 21-18, to open the 2017 season at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer completed 20-of-30 passes for 222 yards, a touchdown and a pick in his first career start.
Kizer also added a score on the ground.
His favorite target was second-round wideout Corey Coleman, who had five receptions for 53 yards and a TD.
The Browns will hit the road during Week Two for the first time this season.
Cleveland heads to Baltimore to take on the Ravens on Sunday. Baltimore started the year dominating the Bengals, 20-0.
