#GoodNews: Community Helps Eight-Year-Old Girl Get New Wig

When Jimena Diaz-Vazquez was getting ready for the new school year, she didn’t want a new lunchbox or a new backpack, she wanted a wig. The eight-year-old from Green Bay, Wisconsin suffers from a hair loss condition called alopecia and thanks to support from her community, she’ll be getting that new wig.

Jimena put her request for help getting the wig out on Facebook and after a local news story aired, lots of people wanted to help. Now she’s getting a new wig donated by Voga Wigs and she’s delighted!

“I want to say thank you to all the people who are donating money so I could get a wig,” says Jimena.
