J.J. Watt: Fundraising Efforts Have Topped $20-Million

Yesterday we told you that nearly 70,000 people had signed a petition to rename a highway in Houston JJ Watt Parkway in honor of the nearly $18-million dollars he had raised in relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey.

Well, we need to correct that story.

Because the number of people that have signed at last check was well over 70,000 and Watt has now raised over $20-million bucks.

“We set out last Sunday with a goal of $200,000. Every single day since then has been a reminder of how much good that there is out there in the world,” Watt said in a heartfelt video posted to his Twitter“How when times are tough and things look bleak, people step up to help their fellow human. It has truly been an incredible spectacle to watch and I cannot thank everybody enough for sharing, donating, and doing whatever you possibly can to help this cause.”

Wow—such a generous heart and an intelligent person?

His name shouldn’t be on a Texas highway as much as Senate nameplate.
