#GoodNews: Reporter Drops Mic To Help Woman In Labor During Flood

We love hearing about the touching moments of strangers helping strangers during the catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Harvey. Good Samaritans are stepping up to help others and one of them was KTRK’s reporter Chauncy Glover.

Glover was out in Houston covering the storm, reporting live when he dropped what he was doing - literally, he dropped his mic - to help a woman in labor. A woman ran up during his report shouting that her sister was in labor, so he ran to help her.

Since an ambulance couldn’t get to her house because of the deep water, the reporter got her out and into a van that took her to the hospital. Glover explains that when you see someone who needs help at a time like this, “it’s not about news stories.”
