Matt Carpenter To Donate $10k For Each Homer To Houston Relief

The devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey has forever changed the lives of people in Houston and the surrounding areas, and Matt Carpenter is one of many professional athletes with ties to the area who are doing what they can to help.

And what he’s doing will help these people for the entire MLB season.

Because yesterday the Galveston, Texas native promised to donate $10,000 for every home run he hits to the relief efforts in Houston.

Carpenter immediately tweeted this as well in support of the families:

My wife and I called the Houston area home for most of our lives and our hearts are hurting for those families affected by hurricane Harvey.

Carpenter, who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals, is from Galveston, Texas. He has 17 home runs this season, so here’s hoping he hits plenty more down the stretch.

Hey good news he faces the Reds four more times this year—the worst staff in baseball

Talk about God “closing a door, then opening a window.”
