Lions, Matthew Stafford Agree To $135-Million Extension

Remember how we joked last week that Derek Carr was no longer the highest paid player in the NFL after Roger Goodell signed his contract extension?

Well, now we’re serious when we say he isn’t…because another QB just inked a huge deal.

Detroit and 29-year-old Matthew Stafford have greed to terms on a five-year contract – that’s worth $135-million. This’ll make Carr the second highest-paid player in the league (as the $27-million-per-year average surpasses a deal signed earlier this summer by Carr, which pays the Oakland passer an annual average of $25-million).

Looks like Matt’s getting the Lion’s share of QB money.
