DeShone Kizer Aims To Bury The Infamous Browns QB Jersey

Hey, here’s something you don’t hear every day, the Browns named a new starting quarterback.

Of course, you hear it nearly as much considering since the team was reinstated in Cleveland in 1999, they have seen 26 different starting QB’s in that time—as evidenced by the infamous Browns jersey commemorating the dubious list.

Well now QB number 27 – rookie DeShone Kizer – is hoping to put an end to the list of shamed quarterback names and wants Cleveland fans to know they won’t get burned with his number 7 jersey.

“You see that list grow and grow and grow and you hear the people and the chatter throughout the whole community, so now to be put on that list and hopefully ending that list will be an awesome, awesome situation for me.”

Kizer may be the youngest starting quarterback in the league, but he doesn’t lack in confidence. And he’s making it clear that he has no intention of having his name added to that list of failed Browns quarterbacks.

He was named the team’s starter after the third preseason game, and head coach Hue Jackson said the Browns will stick with him through the “good and bad.”

Hey, given the majority of the past 18 seasons Browns fans have be stuck with QB from bad to worse, that is actually a vote of confidence.
