Hey, you know that blockbuster trade between the Cavs and Celtics last week that sent Kyrie Irving to Boston in exchange for Isaiah Thomas and a few others?
Yeah well now it turns out it may just be bust.
Yup, turns out that ESPN b-ball guru Adrian Wojnarowski dropped a major bombshell around the NBA world Friday night when he indicated that the Cleveland Cavaliers were weighing options before making the blockbuster Irving- Thomas trade official.
The issue for Cleveland? Thomas’ bothersome hip, one that he had surgically repaired earlier in the summer. Apparently, the Cavaliers didn’t like what they saw in the physical Thomas underwent.
Which is why the Cavs may actually be seeking yet another player from the Celtics in order to complete the trade.
Wow—as if the original deal that sent Thomas, Jae Crowder, 2016 first-round pick Ante Žižić and next year’s first-round pick (from Brooklyn) to the Cavaliers for Irving didn’t fleece the Cavs enough?
That trade was nearly as lopsided as Thomas looks with that sore hip.
