ESPN: Kyrie Irving Asked To Be Traded

This surely caught Cavs fans off guard.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Kyrie Irving asked to be traded last week. According to the report, LeBron James was "blindsided and disappointed" by the news.

The report from Windhorst claims that Kyrie wants to be the focal point of a team and no longer wants to play with LeBron:

The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to play in a situation where he can be more of a focal point and that he no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.

As news broke, other NBA insiders confirmed the ESPN report:

Adrian Wojnarorski of ESPN added that Kyrie would "prefer" to play with the San Antonio Spurs.

Apparently Kyrie has a list of teams he would like to be traded to.

How do you go to three straight NBA Finals, win one and have an offseason that appears to be a total mess? I don't know, but the Cavs are surely showing us how it's done.
