There are new reports today that the Russian lawyer who met with Donald Trump Junior last year was accompanied by a former Soviet counter intelligence officer who is now a Russian-American lobbyist.
NBC News reports that some U.S. officials suspect the former Soviet spy still has ties to Russian intelligence.
The lobbyist served in the Soviet military, lives in the U.S., and has dual citizenship.
He reportedly accompanied the attorney to the meeting last year with the younger Trump and his brother-in-law Jared Kushner and then campaign director Paul Manafort.
The younger Trump has confirmed he took the meeting at Trump Tower because he was told the Russian government would provide negative information about Hillary Clinton.
He says that never materialized and he cut the meeting short.
