Mark Wahlberg is returning to the true story world of football with his latest project.
His company has produced the upcoming documentary series "Signal-Caller for the Cartel: Cocaine Quarterback," which tells the real story of a University of Southern California quarterback who also acted as a drug kingpin while still playing college football.
Wahlberg notably played real-life Philadelphia Eagles walk-on Vince Papale in 2006's "Invincible"; now he's sharing the true story of former USC quarterback Owen Hanson, a member of USC's 2004 national championship team, who went from selling steroids to partnering with the Sinaloa cartel and received a 21-year prison sentence for his crimes.
The docuseries will debut on Amazon Prime on September 25.
