In Stark County, a suspect charged in the killing of a Canton man is expected to make his first court appearance this morning.
Police previously reported that 26-year-old Ryan Godbey had last been seen on June 19th and that there were concerns that he may have disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
On Thursday, police arrested 33-year-old Daniel Mattay, Godbey's live-in partner, on charges of murder, felonious assault, strangulation, and domestic violence.
Police say that while the victim's body has not yet been located, evidence leads them to the conclusion that Godbey is deceased and that Mattay is responsible.
