A Canton woman is facing charges in connection with the abuse of her young daughter.
Police say the 26-year-old woman failed to protect the four-year-old child from violence committed by her husband.
The child was taken to Akron Children's Hospital last week, where medical professionals found she had been choked and that multiple areas of her body were bruised.
The suspect is charged with permitting child abuse.
Police say the woman's husband was already on probation for a child endangerment conviction.
