Federal Grant To Pay For Additional Police Officers In Canton

The federal Department of Justice has awarded the City of Canton a grant to cover the cost of hiring five new police officers.

The $625,000 in funding comes from the DOJ's Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services.

The grant is intended to help communities reduce crime through the enhancement of law enforcement staffing and community policing.
