• This is a great father’s day gift. A dad needed a kidney transplant, so his three daughters got tested to see which one had the best match. One of his daughters was, and she was able to donate the kidney just in time for father’s day. She said the decision to donate was easy, saying that it was just scratching the surface on paying him back for all the good things he’s done for her. 

  • All those anti smoking campaigns have gotten through to US teens! Smoking rates have hit new lows and, and according to new data, fewer high school students are trying e-cigarettes as well. The CDC says while 20% of high school students have used at least one tobacco product recently, the total number is way down, even from last year. And regular use is at an all time low. This is great news! Smoking is terrible for you, let alone kids.  It’s never too late to quit.
  • A woman bought a lotto scratch-off ticket to feed the parking meter, and ended up winning the jackpot. She needed to break a large bill to pay the meter, so she bought a lotto ticket to do it, and that ticket ended up winning her $320-thousand! The woman plans on taking the trip of a lifetime with her family. 
  • A listeners sent us an email about a nurse who did some good stuff for her. The anonymous listener has been caring for her elderly mother, who has been in and out of the hospital. A lot of people have been pressuring her to put mom in a nursing home. She doesn’t want to do that, but feared that’s what her mother's doctor would tell her when the office called one day. Instead, it was a nurse who just called to ask how SHE was doing. The nurse was concerned about how she was handling everything with her mom, and simply wanted to make sure she was OK. The simple gesture really touched the woman, and she shared the story with us.
