It's official - The Rolling Stones plan to record a new album next year.

Keith Richards broke the news Tuesday night during a nationwide IHeartRadio broadcast in support of his new solo album, Crosseyed Heart, which will be out Friday.

He said that he was in London last week and got together with Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood. The group will tour South America in the first months of next year, and have "definite plans to record" after that. This would be the Stones' first studio album since A Bigger Bang in 2005.
